Fire
Fire, written by Kristin Cashore, tells the story of the last human monster alive in the Dells. Her father unwillingly produced her, and was unable to kill her once she was alive, but none the less, he tried to turn her wicked as soon as he could. Human monsters can alter the thoughts of minds, making weak minded people believe what the want them to. Possessing unnatural beauty Fire is often sought after by many men, but when a bandit she is interrogating is shot, people realize that hard times could be approaching. When Fire aids the king in discovering his enemies' plots, she is taken away and held captive by the only graceling in the Dells. After a daring escape she is found by her guards, that is as far as I have gotten. So far I have liked the book immensely much as I did Graceling. She uses action and humor to keep the reader hooked, along with flawless story lines.
